Advanced Techniques
Interventional Pain Specialist, Dr. Vengurlekar, is well known for his dexterity in his techniques and the successful outcomes on his patients. He offers a wide range of treatment options ranging from the simple and basic techniques of Epidurals, facet nerve blocks, joint injections, selective root sleeve injections, radiofrequency ablation procedures, to a variety of modern day cutting age technology such as plasma energy coblation for disc herniations, Intradisc Thermal Annuloplasty, Biacuplasty cooled Radiofrequency techniques, coblation and vertebral augmentation for spine metastases from cancer, vertebroplasty for compression fractures of the spine etc.

Spinal stimulators and Intrathecal infusions are also offered for a select group of patients who have not responded to previously mentioned techniques. Spinal stimulators, though useful, are not to be offered to patients as initial treatments and only indicated in Neuropathic Pain Syndromes. Spinal stimulators are not indicated for osteoporosis, joint pain or undiagnosed abdominal pain or peptic ulcer etc. This modality of treatment is invasive, very expensive and prevents patients with implanted stimulators from undergoing MRIs of any region of the body.

Intrathecal infusions are also indicated as a last resort to recalcitrant treatment and are indicated in intractable cancer pain, advanced RSD or failed spine surgeries.
